Across the UK, thousands of children are in need of safe and loving foster families. According to Barnardo’s and government figures, more than 70,000 children are in care in England. Each year, thousands more come into care, yet there is a shortage of around 9,000 foster families nationwide.
For Muslim children, the challenge is even greater. Many are placed with families who do not share their faith, culture, or dietary needs. While foster carers do their best, it is important for Muslim children to grow up in a home that understands their values, language, and traditions. This helps them feel safe, secure, and connected to their identity.

A personal recommendation
My name is Sabir Esa, and together with my wife Feroza Esa, we are currently going through the fostering application process. From our experience, it is not as difficult as people often think.
