He has previously served on Bolton Council for the Hulton Ward, and is a busy campaigner across Bolton.

I live in Manor Park and have been a local councillor since 2010. I am committed to protecting and improving local services, and ensuring Newham is a great place for families and young people to thrive.

I am keen to continue my work with local residents to tackle crime, anti-social behaviour and other issues facing our community here.

Siraz was appointed to the Board in 2023, as a representative of Preston City Council, where Siraz has represented the Deepdale Ward as Councillor since 2019. Siraz has previously been a social housing tenant in Preston, and so has a keen interest in making sure that tenants are able to live in good quality homes and neighbourhoods and are provided with an excellent service. Siraz has mainly worked in the public and community sectors, including community-facing roles which has enabled Siraz to work with a diverse group of people from all walks of life. In his spare time, Siraz enjoys sport, watching TV, gardening, and bee-keeping.

Rafique is our Senior Partner. He is a solicitor and qualified as a solicitor in 1996. He has a Law Degree having graduated from the University of Hull in 1993. He also completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Chester in 1994. He also has an LLM (Masters) in Management of Advanced Litigation and Dispute Resolution from Nottingham Trent University in 2007. He practices in all aspects of litigation and corporate work. Particularly commercial, corporate, high net worth family and property disputes, regulatory and including Inquest litigation and associated claims arising out of inquest litigation. He is a specialist litigator and corporate regulatory lawyer having been a Partner and Head of Regulatory at 450 staff law firm Harvey Ingram Owston (now amalgamated into Shakespeare Martineau). Rafique also acts in matters across corporate and commercial transactions involving high value property purchases and is known for his thorough and detailed dilligence in his approach when dealing with clients and all parties. Rafique also is skilled in financial matters and brings that analytical and technical approach to all of his work.

Community Involvement: Founded several residents’ associations, consistently working to improve local communities.

Political Engagement: Former Deputy Chairman for Blackburn Conservatives, deeply involved in both local and national politics.

Advocacy: A committed activist, fighting for equality and justice for everyone, with a strong focus on making a positive impact at all levels of society.

Haroon Fansiwala

With over 35 years of experience, I am dedicated to driving positive change and fostering growth within both local and global communities. My career spans community leadership, political advocacy, business development, and venture capital.

As a former Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain, I have actively represented and lobbied for the British Muslim community at the highest levels of government. My leadership roles extend to being the Chairman of the Lancashire Council of Mosques and an Executive Committee Member of the Union of Muslim Organisations.

In the business world, I have founded and managed several successful companies, focusing on commercial property investment and development. My work as a venture capitalist involves advising and mentoring numerous start-ups, providing crucial support and funding to foster economic development.

My philanthropic efforts are extensive. I have been a pro-bono advisor to various charities on land and property acquisition, played a significant role in campaigns against Third World debt and child poverty, and served as a trustee for Muslim Aid UK, an international charity.

Fluent in multiple languages and an experienced public speaker, I have represented British Muslims at numerous international conferences, advocating for civic society and good governance. I am deeply committed to my family and community, enjoying travel, reading, and supporting local sports.
